Cast Of Vices – Collection Three

Born from a desire to create artifacts out of our vices, Cast of Vices celebrates the inherent design aesthetic of these substances while casting a critical eye on pop culture and our obsession with self-medication and addiction. When our Rome falls, these will be our remains: cigarette butts, pills, bottle caps, and coke bags.

The fly is a reminder of the stench of our addictions and can be a companion to any piece.
Cast of Vices new Collection No. 3 continues to explore the semiotics within contemporary culture and their effects on our modern ethos. Cast of Vices adopts a brighter palette in the new collection by means of hand cut, natural, semi-precious stones and crystals. The collection is hand crafted in the U.S.A. with solid .925 sterling silver, semi-precious stones, and 14k gold by using the lost wax process.

Good Wood NYC and Ease Daman (From my quick google on him seems to be affiliated with Mishka) seem to be working on a wayfarer style sunglass’s colab at the moment. There’s no word on when they’ll drop, but you best believe they’ll go quick, Stay posted for news as it lands.

“The History of Oakley” collection, Since the Frogskin was the first Oakley design that was directed at a lifestyle. Staple decided to design it with their lifestyle in mind. The frame is adorned with two tones of grey with the Pigeon mascot laser etched on the lens, and a Pigeon splat on the arm.

Eddie Colla a Oakland-based artist produces work that are full of energy and in some case’s extremely sexy with a definite sense of rebellion thrown in. The detail and contrast of his works are out of this world. More of his work and his take on life below….

Eddie Colla’s words….

“There is a visual conversation that takes place on the streets of urban environments,” says Colla. “This conversation is dominated primarily by advertising and utilitarian signage and assumes passive participation. Whether invited or not I am going to participate in this conversation. Public spaces were never intended to be coated from top to bottom with photos of consumer products. These spaces should, in some manner, reflect the culture that thrives in that space.”

“Some people view what I do as vandalism. I assume that their objection is that I alter the landscape without permission. Advertising perpetually alters our environment without the permission of it’s inhabitants. The only difference is that advertisers pay for the privilege to do so and I don’t. So if you’re going to call me anything, it is more accurate to call me a thief.”
